How do you get to hell?
Very simple: claim that you're innocent.

How do you get to heaven?
Very simple: Admit that you're not Innocent, you're guilty and ask for mercy.

How to know if you're guilty or not?
Simply: Compare your life to the Ten Commandments God gave you in the Bible.
Everyone agrees that if people followed the ten commandments there would be no need for governments or police.

    Do not lie.
    Do not steal.
    Do not commit adultery.
Do not insult God by using his name as a cuss word.
There are six more but let's just leave it at that.

How many lies have you told in your life?

Have you ever taken anything that didn't belong to you?

Jesus said, if you look at a women lustfully you've already committed adultery in your heart with that woman.
How many times a day do you do that?

Do you use God's name as a cuss word?
Would you do that with your own mother's name?

If you answer these questions honestly you know that you're guilty.

God can justly punish you and send you to hell.

    Ask him for mercy.
    His name is Jesus.

It's as simple as this, The Ten Commandments are called the moral law. You and I broke God's laws. Jesus paid the fine.
    The fine is death.

    Ezekiel 18:20 —
"The soul who sins shall die.

That's why Jesus had to die on the cross for our sins. This is why God is able to give us Mercy.

    Option A.
You die for your own sins.

    Option B
Ask for mercy and accept that Jesus died for you

When they talk about comedians being the best drama actors, I always thought they had to be somewhat good comedians.
Amy Schummer nailed it. Oscar worthy performance.

25:45 how does going into a congregation of chanting and shouting people explain to an atheist what a soul is, anymore than the gatherings of Queequeg's own people during their festivities. It either shows Melville's own ignorance of non-Christians, or his prejudice of heathen culture, or that of the persons responsible for the adaptation to film. I read the book, but I don't remember Melville's original portrayal. But it seems that the whole idea of "savage" and "cannibal" and Ishmael's initial impression of Queequeg reveals the culture of Melville's time: namely, the common misunderstanding and prejudice of non-Christians.

I'm savoring this version. I remember now that I watched it back in the day. I liked it then too. It's a shame we dont get quality stuff like this nowadays. Guess I'm getting old. Cant compete with the Kardashians and Big Brother. People eat that up.
    Thanks for the UpL!

With all gained respect, Gregory Peck should have done Ahab in this version and give Patrick his part….would have been much better…..👍

Yesterday I watched the version with William Hurt and Ethan Hawke. No fault of his, but it was BORING, and grated my nerves. So endlesssly dark brown and full of nothing but machismo, without much character development, or color at all. I don't remember the original any more. If it was the same, I would say why bother redoing it then? I sure hope this is better.

I love how Gregory Peck is in it. He was Ahab in the best version ever. Orson Welles was the minister.

This version is pretty good, considering it's made for TV. It's watchable and hits on the major scenes that convey a sense of the book. For my money, the 1956 version, featuring Gregory Peck as Ahab, is the definitive film version of Moby Dick. Obviously, the book is superior to all of this, but movies tend to have more reach.

I wonder if people realize that this was an American novel with American characters. If those accents and scenes in the beginning are from New England, then Ahab's a sunday school teacher.

The Essex, a very real disaster, inspired Melville to pen this epic tale. And, who can forget how it influenced Star Trek II : The Wrath of Khan with Ricardo Montalban quoting Ahab's words as he pursues his great white whale, the Enterprise. As to this adaptation – Gregory Peck was, without question, worth watching but, everything else, not so much.

Nothing like turning the original classic into a Disney after school special filled with cartoon characters and tired scene writing. Although the few seconds of CGI white whale weren't too bad, accounting for the year the film was made
